General questions
How much does a resin bound driveway cost?+
Our guide price is £170 per m² plus VAT, with a minimum project charge equivalent to 40 m² (£6,800 plus VAT, or £8,160 including VAT at 20%). A 50 m² driveway therefore has a guide estimate of £8,500 plus VAT (£10,200 inc VAT), and 100 m² is £17,000 plus VAT (£20,400 inc VAT). Prices are indicative and subject to a site survey — ground conditions, access, drainage, edging and design requirements may affect the final quotation.
How long does a resin bound surface last?+
A professionally installed resin bound surface lasts 20–25 years with minimal maintenance. All qualifying new Resi-Tech installations are covered by a five-year guarantee, subject to the terms and conditions of the guarantee.
Is resin bound surfacing permeable and SuDS compliant?+
Yes. Resin bound surfacing is fully permeable, allowing rainwater to drain naturally through the surface. This means it is SuDS compliant and in most cases does not require planning permission for front gardens.
How long does installation take?+
Most residential driveways are completed in 2–4 days including groundworks. The resin surface itself is usually laid in a single day and can be walked on after 24 hours and driven on after 72 hours.
Can resin be laid over my existing driveway?+
If your existing concrete or tarmac base is structurally sound, we can often overlay it directly — reducing cost and installation time. Our surveyors assess base suitability during your free site visit.
Does resin bound surfacing crack or fade?+
We use only UV-stable aliphatic resins, which will not yellow or fade in sunlight. Correctly installed over a sound base, resin bound surfacing is highly resistant to cracking. Qualifying new installations include a five-year guarantee, subject to the terms and conditions of the guarantee.
Is a resin driveway slippery when wet?+
No. The natural aggregate texture provides excellent slip resistance in all weather, and we can add a crushed glass anti-slip additive to gradients and shaded areas.
Do I need planning permission for a resin driveway?+
In almost all cases, no. Because resin bound surfacing is permeable and SuDS compliant, it falls within permitted development for front gardens in England and Wales.
Driveway questions
What base does a resin bound driveway need?+
We install onto a new open-graded asphalt or concrete base, or overlay an existing sound base. Failing bases are excavated and rebuilt with a full sub-base — every quote itemises this clearly.
Will my resin driveway support heavy vehicles?+
Yes. Laid at 18mm over an engineered base, resin bound surfacing comfortably supports family cars, SUVs and delivery vehicles. For heavier loads we specify increased depth.
How do I maintain a resin bound driveway?+
An occasional sweep and a jet wash once or twice a year keeps the surface looking new. There are no joints for weeds to colonise.
Patio questions
Is resin bound a good choice for patios?+
Excellent — it's seamless, weed-free, puddle-free and comfortable underfoot. Colours can be matched to your interior flooring for a beautiful inside-outside flow.
Can you create patterns or borders in a patio?+
Yes. We regularly install contrasting borders, curves, circles and even house numbers using aluminium edging between blends.
Commercial questions
Do you handle large commercial contracts?+
Yes. We deliver projects from 100m² office courtyards to 5,000m² public realm schemes, with full RAMS, CDM compliance and out-of-hours installation available.
What warranties apply to commercial installations?+
Qualifying new commercial installations are covered by a five-year guarantee, subject to the terms and conditions of the guarantee. Optional planned maintenance agreements are available on request.
