1–3mm, 2–5mm, 3–6mm: Which Resin Bound Aggregate Size Is Right?

Three resin bound aggregate sizes displayed side by side for comparison

Aggregate size changes everything about how a resin bound surface looks and performs. Here's how we specify it.

1–3mm — patios and pool surrounds

The finest grade. Very smooth underfoot, ideal for barefoot areas, but not resilient enough for vehicle traffic.

2–5mm — driveways

The UK domestic driveway standard. Best balance of strength, drainage and appearance. This is what we lay on 90% of Resi-Tech driveways.

3–6mm — commercial and heavy use

Coarser, tougher and more textured. We specify this for commercial forecourts and high-traffic entrances.
