A properly installed resin bound surface handles UK winters better than nearly any alternative. Here's what actually happens through December to February.

Frost heave

Because the surface is permeable, water drains through rather than pooling and freezing. This eliminates the freeze/thaw damage that destroys slabs and blocks.

Salt and de-icers

Rock salt is fine in normal use. Avoid urea-based de-icers on new installs (first winter) — they can affect cure at high concentration.

Snow clearance

Plastic snow shovels only. No metal edges — they can score the aggregate.
