We're regularly called to fix other companies' work. The failures we see cluster into five categories.
1. Laid too thin
Anything below 15mm on a driveway will fail. We lay 18mm minimum.
2. Wrong resin
Aromatic resin (cheaper) yellows within 2–3 years under UV. UV-stable aliphatic resin is non-negotiable.
3. No edge restraint
Tyres shear the perimeter without a fixed edge. See our dedicated edge guide.
4. Weather
Laying below 5°C or above 25°C, or with rain within 6 hours, causes cure problems. We monitor UK forecasts hourly and reschedule when needed.
5. Wrong base
An unbound, cracked or waterlogged base transmits every fault straight up through the resin. See our sub-base guide.
